A Várzea da Gonçala tem muito gosto emapresentar uma workshop com duração de uma semana, divigido pelo maetre arquitecto em Taipa, Snr Henrique Schreck.

Durante a semana O Snr Schreck vai demonstrar como selectionir e preparar a terra, introduzer as "taipais" - as feramentas para o trabalho - e como usâ-los.

Tambem vai haver uma apresentação da historia e a sabedoria deste metodo antigo de construcão.

CONSTRUÇÃO  em  TERRA  –  TAIPA  - Oficina na Várzea da Gonçala  -  Abril/Maio 2012
1 – Apresentação e descrição dos objectivos do curso.
2 – A escolha da terra para construção e sua preparação.
3 – Testes para primeira certificação da terra.
4 – Apresentação das ferramentas para construir em taipa.
5 – Montagem dos taipais.
6 – Como comprimir a terra; como saber se está pronta.
7 – Preparação do taipal superior.
8 – Desmontagem e montagem do taipal.
9 – Construção de paredes incluindo vãos com vista à construção de um espaço.
10- Explicação de como finalizar a parede superiormente de modo a preparar a receção da cobertura.
11- No decorrer dos trabalhos haverá explicação teórica sobre as qualidades da construção em terra, bem como abordagem sobre acabamentos das paredes, pavimentos e telhados.

O preço do curso e €300, incluido espaçio para campismo, e 3 refeiçoes saborosas por dia. Tambem há espaco limitado em apartamento a preços acesiveis.

Rammed-earth Workshop

Varzea da Goncala are pleased to announce a 7-day workshop in Taipa (rammed earth) construction, delivered by the renowned natural building arquetect, Henrique Schreck.

During the week, Mr. Schreck will show how to select and prepare the construction earth, introduce the “taipais” - the tools of the trade and guide the building of the small rammed earth house.

There will also be a presentation of the history and wisdom of this ancient method of construction.

Course Content

1 - Introduction and description of the course objectives.

2 - The choice of land for construction and preparation.

3 - Testing for initial certification of the land.

4 - Presentation of tools for building in Taipei.

5 - Installation of shutters.

6 - How to shrink the earth, how to know if it is ready.

7 - Preparation of the upper tailgate.

8 - Disassembly and assembly of the tailgate.

9 - Construction of walls including openings for the construction of a space.

10 - Explanation of how upper end wall in order to prepare the receção coverage.

11 - In the course of the work will be theoretical explanation about the qualities of earth construction, as well as approach to finishing the walls, floors and roofs.


The course is € 300, including spatial camping and 3 delicious meals per day. Also there is limited space in dorm accommodation, prices available on request.
